At Times My Shoulders Don’t Feel Strong Enough
I pride myself on being able to take on a lot of responsibility and handle them well, but there are times my shoulders feel as if they are too weak to bear the weight of what I take on.
Why do we, as women, feel that we have to manage so many avenues successfully at one time?
Is it because we are so nurturing?
Is it because we are natural fixers?
Is it because we have to be driven to get ahead?
Is it because we are expected to do without complaining?
Is it because we have settled for the burdens that we have chosen to bear?
Is it because we want our kids to have a better life than we did?
Is it because we know if we don’t do it – it won’t get done?
Is it because we don’t value ourselves enough to place us as a priority?
Is it because we have higher expectations of ourselves than we do of others?
Is it because we are used to pushing ourselves past exhaustion?
Is it because we love hard?
Is it because we think about how our mothers and grandmothers endured it all and we should be able to as well?
Is it because no matter how degraded we feel at our place of employment, we know we are loved at home?
Is it because we bear the burden of bringing home the bacon and frying it up in the pan?
Is it because we make the bills and then pay the bills?
Is it because our shoe game makes our feet hurt?
Is it because we just want the best for us and our family?
No matter what your because is – just know that you are a woman of power, strength and courage!
I love being a woman of power, strength and courage, and determining for myself what my because is, and how far I will take it. Been doing that for half a century now, and it still works. I have plenty left to do and I will, because!
You are a woman of power, strength and courage!!! Keep pushing forward and standing tall!
